Worship & Preaching
Gathered Worship
Faithful Practice
At Calvary Reformation Church, our gathered worship is shaped by Scripture and ordered around the ordinary means of grace God has given to His church. We worship together through the public reading of Scripture, prayer, congregational singing, the weekly celebration of the Lord’s Table, and the faithful administration of baptism. We believe the Holy Spirit works powerfully through these ordinary means to form and sustain His people, not in spite of their simplicity, but through their faithful practice.
Singing
Our singing is congregational and Word centered, intended to teach, confess, and proclaim biblical truth as we lift our voices together in praise. Our music reflects a range of expressions found throughout the history of the church. We sing psalms, hymns, gospel anthems, and biblically faithful contemporary songs. Regardless of style, our focus is on congregational participation, clear doctrine, and lyrics shaped by Scripture rather than performance or preference. We also practice joyful giving as an act of worship and view fellowship as an essential part of our shared life before God.
Preaching
At the heart of our gathering is expository preaching, where the Word of God is explained and applied in its proper context so that Scripture sets the agenda for our faith and practice and calls God’s people to respond with faith, obedience, and joy.
