Many Christians have lost the spiritual zeal they once had, becoming forgetful of God’s past faithfulness and works in their lives. Hebrews 10:32-34 calls believers to remember their former days – when they first came to faith, endured afflictions for Christ, and burned with passion for the gospel. This remembrance isn’t mere nostalgia but a strategic spiritual discipline that can reignite our faith. We can guard against spiritual forgetfulness through repentance, Scripture meditation, faithful church attendance, creating memorials of God’s goodness, and testifying to others. The early believers joyfully endured persecution because they remembered they had a better and enduring substance in heaven, understanding that following Christ comes with a cost but offers eternal rewards.
