Now Faith! The Definition and Characteristics of Biblical Faith
Faith is often misunderstood as a tool to get what we want from God, but Hebrews 11:1 reveals something deeper. True biblical faith is anchored in eternal promises – Christ’s atoning sacrifice, eternal life, and His return – not material prosperity. When we examine the context of Hebrews 10-11, we see that believers found joy even when their possessions were taken because they trusted in something better. Biblical faith is God-centered, rooted in Scripture, and produces obedience rather than selfish demands. The highest expression of faith is surrendering to God’s will, trusting His perfect plan even when it differs from our desires.
